Tevin Campbell naît au Texas aux Etats-Unis en 1978. A l'âge de 10 ans, il apparaît dans le show télévisé Wally & the Valentines puis dans le film de Prince Graffiti bridge. Il interprête à l'âge de 14 ans le titre Tomorrow sur l'album Back to the block de Quincy Jones. Ce dernier le fait signer sur son label Qwest et Tevin Campbell signe son premier album T.E.V.I.N. en 1991. Ce disque contient deux hits pop et R&B Round and round et Tell me what you want me to do. Son deuxième opus sort en 1993 et s'intitule I'm ready. Suivent Back to the world en 1996 et Tevin Campbell en 1999. En 2003, l'artiste publie The Best of Aztec Camera.
